It all began in 2009…

I started painting furniture professionally in 2009 under the name High Falootin’ Junk. I had a booth at a local antique mall that kept me busy. In 2010, I started searching for a better type of paint and discovered Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and became one of the first mini-stockists in Central Florida. Becoming a stockist required me to have my own brick and mortar store, so I opened High Falootin’ Junk on the famed Donnely Street in Downtown Mt. Dora. That store really put me through a lot and we decided to close. In 2014, I decided to start painting full-time again and opened a couple of booths at Adjectives in Altamonte and Winter Park. I soon found the need for a larger studio to keep up with demand. I named it Westside Mercantile & Brocante in Downtown Ocoee and opened it to the public. I really enjoyed all of my customers and the growing town, but life had other ideas for me and I stopped painting yet again to pursue other ventures. Fast forward to 2020 and we are now the owners of two boat dealerships and I find very little time to paint, but when I do, I feel a little more like myself.
