I can’t say enough about how much I love Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. It has really resolved a lot of the problems that I was having with latex paint. As some of you might know my warehouse/studio is in Central Florida and on a good summer day it is about 97 degrees, 100% humidity and a 70% chance of rain, which meant my painting and curing time with latex was unreasonable. That is why I started researching different paint types and came across ASCP. It has been a life saver and the buzz about her paint has also introduced me to a whole group of other furniture painters just like me. A real community is starting to blossom from the use of this paint. I LOVE that…It is becoming a great support group for ideas and techniques of our art form. It’s not that often that one product can make such an impact…
Here are a few of my recently completed pieces…Notice that I’m not mentioning prices because I have a very special purpose for these pieces…More on that coming very soon…
This is Annie Sloan Aubusson Blue with Dark Wax.
I’m still waiting on two drawer pulls…
The inside is Annie Sloan Primer Red
And the silver drawer was lined with Silver Shield to help prevent tarnishing.
Next is Miss Caroline…
This is one of my upcycled pieces…just pieces and parts from different junkin’ adventures…
She is painted with ASCP Paris Grey and trimmed with Duck Egg Blue
I thought she needed a little something sweet along the top, so I painted an old brooch with Duck Egg Blue. Every southern belle needs good accessories to tie her look all together…
And then we have…
Garden Glow painted in Annie Sloan Antibes Green, with lots of Dark Wax and distressing…
Since this piece is somewhat primitive, I really wanted it to have a vibrant color that would show off its age and attributes.
I’m still trying to keep my secret about the big changes that are in the works and boy it is hard…I think by the end of the week I will be SHOUTING the news to y’all…
Good Luck Junkin’
D

I love your piece in Antibes green. I love that the hardware is the same color as the piece. Gorgeous!
Thank you! I’m glad you like it and the painted hardware. I actually even left the hardware on which goes against everything I’ve been taught about refinishing furniture, but I thought it just seemed right for that piece of furniture.
